Mountain View Pickleball Club
Member Benefits
For questions, email mvpickle.org+member@gmail.com
All are welcome to play at Rengstorff Park because the courts were built and are maintained by the City of Mountain View and are available for the entire public. Members of the Mountain View Pickleball Club derive additional benefits including:
Communication
We use the membership roster to communicate special events created by the club. We also use the membership roster to communicate other important events that impact our pickleball community in Mountain View at Rengstorff Park. You don’t have to be a member but if you’re not, you may not hear about these events.
In addition, we communicate:
introductory clinics that are available to learn the basics of the game
skill development clinics to improve abilities beyond the basics
round robin events for friendly competition and to establish an objective skill ranking using the DUPR ranking system. The DUPR ranking system allows players to be able to communicate more accurately their skill level for tournaments.
Supplies/Equipment
We use membership dues to purchase supplies and equipment to augment the courts and nets that the City of Mountain View already provides. For example members receive or have access to:
Name tags so we can get to know one another better and so that new people have a person to go to to ask questions about how to get involved
Loaner pickleballs and paddles
Loaner ball machine (in the works when we can obtain a larger storage locker)
Equipment to maintain the courts
Storage locker for supplies/equipment paid for by membership dues.
Community
Those who play pickleball regularly at Rengstorff Park in Mountain View experience a welcoming camaraderie among friends of all cultures and ages. We’ve initially met through our shared interest in the sport and our friendships have grown beyond that as we spend more time together on and off the courts.
Opportunity to get involved
We have an active community of people who volunteer their time to improve the pickleball experience for all at Rengstorff Park in Mountain View. While none of the people who coach clinics or who serve on the board are paid, membership dues help to offset the costs associated with hosting events that benefit the members.
Advocacy for additional permanent pickleball courts
The Mountain View Pickleball Club is actively participating in a City led study on where 12 new permanent courts should be located in the City of Mountain View. Your membership adds your voice to our collective efforts.
